As we slowly ease into the last month of summer, I think about all the alcohol, food & dessert I have consumed in such a short period of time.
I feel it. I feel it in my stomach, in my arms, in my legs and in my core. I feel weaker. I feel tired. I feel drained. I feel like someone else. I can’t run without dying after only two minutes, and I can’t stand the thought of doing cardio. Because in my mind, all I want to do is have cocktails on the lake.
But then I think back to who and what I really want and that is not just a good figure, but stamina, energy & pure happiness everyday. I remember that working out and putting whole hearted foods in my body is what makes me happy.
Yes, don’t get me wrong… I LOVE going to dinner & I love my variety of craft beers & cocktails. But in MODERATION- something I have lost track of these past few months. If your looking to kick start your healthy habits and get back on track to a leaner, more energized YOU than start with this detox.
Such simple ingredients, but so beneficial in more than one way. Me and my boyfriend made this in less than 15 minutes and we absolutely loved it. I am sometimes hesitant to try new detox juices because for one they taste horrible, but also because they usually require a lot of time and effort.
NOT THIS ONE THOUGH.
Although I am not an expert, I recommend drinking it 3 nights in a row about an hour or two before bed and eating clean during this time as well. Get in at least 30 minutes cardio and some core exercises! You’ll feel fantabulous!
The base of this green juice detox is parsley, and I’ll explain more about why below.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
*1 bunch Parsley
*1 piece ginger root (about 2 inches)
*2 tbsp Apple Cider vinegar
*3 cups water
*Add water & apple cider vinegar to blender
*Cut lemons in half and squeeze juice from lemons into blender
*Clean and cut parsley and put into blender
*Using a cheese grater, grate ginger root and put in blender. Don’t forget to skin the ginger first. You can use a potato peeler for this.
*Skin and chop up cucumber and add to blender
*Once blended, use a strainer to strain out the “juice” and discard any remaining chunks
Honestly, it’s much easier to do this with a juicer but at the time I attempted to make this, my juicer decided to overheat, forcing me to use a blender. I wanted to include the blender recipe because using a juicer is much simpler- it discards the “pulp” for you.
Parsley has a fresh smell and taste, and is actually really good for your body in ways you never dreamed. So let’s take a look at some of the benefits that parsley has so you can stop throwing it in the garbage like I used to.
*Parsley can prevent birth defects
*Parsley may help prevent cancer
*It can eliminate night blindness
* Parsley can help prevent muscle cramps
*Parsley can help improve depression
