Stripes & Roses + “Girls Trip Review”

Today I want to share the most adorable top that I got from TJ Maxx. It was only $12.99 and an awesome find! The brand is called “Style Envy” and I tried to search for it all over the place but was having trouble locating the brand. If anyone else has some more information, please let me know šŸ™‚ I loved pairing this top with a simple, stretchy white skirt! I haven’t worn a skirt in a really long time and to be honest, it is because I’ve gained weight recently and just don’t feel comfortable wearing one. I forced myself to throw this one and make it a goal to be able to wear skirts again and feel GOOD in them. Don’t get me wrong, I am a preacher for self love and feeling good about our bodies, but there comes a time when we start feeling sluggish and low on energy and just know that it is time take that next step again!

I wore this outfit to a lunch and movie date with my mom and although I loved the touch of these beige lace up booties, I would not recommend wearing these shoes to the movies! haha Not very comfortable at all! We went to go see “Girls Trip” and it was by far one of the funniest movies I have seen in a while. A must have for every person to see- no matter your gender, age or size! If you have seen it already, then you know what I mean and if you haven’t, keep reading. The story is based on four girls who live completely different lives (one broke girl, one married and a famous speaker who thinks she has it all, a single mom, and the crazy, wild child girl). As they got older, they drifted apart and 5 years later decided to attend a trip together. I won’t spoil the movie but these girls learn the true value of love and friendship while on this trip together and really send an inspirational message to the audience. I shed tears of laughter and sadness during this movie, but it has really helped me learn the importance of balancing friendship, family and work. These days, we all get so caught up in work and sometimes forget what is really important in life- and that’s love, happiness, friendship! I really hope you all take the time to go and see the movie because it is a must-see for sure! I will see you guys on my next post xox
